Steven Gauntt was born and raised in Texas, USA. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and a doctorate from the University of Michigan in 1995. He has taught languages (English & Spanish) and literature for over twenty years and has resided in various locales around the globe— including Bogota, Madrid, New York City, and Monterey, California. In the spring of 2012, he moved from the US to China, where he has since fallen in love with its language, culture (especially the food), and people— including one special person he has since married and with whom he is expecting a child in the Year of the Horse. Steven’s hobbies include running, reading, writing, acting, and playing with his two cats. Steven looks forward to a long, prosperous future in his newly adopted homeland.
